Oil filling line: price, composition and capacity

The budget for an oil filling line depends on product viscosity, packaging and dose accuracy. We show typical configurations and cost items so you understand the price structure before the commercial proposal.

Oil is sensitive to dose accuracy: a fraction of a percent of overfill turns into noticeable losses over the year. So we price from the required accuracy and viscosity, not from the number of filling valves.

How we calculate a line for edible oil

  1. Step 1
    Determine viscosity and temperature

Sunflower, olive, technical or frying oil behave differently. Viscosity at operating temperature determines the filler type and line diameter.

  2. Step 2
    Calculate the dose tolerance

Choose between gravimetric and volumetric filling. A mass flow meter costs more but pays off on volume by minimizing overfill.

  3. Step 3
    Build the format range

From 0.5 L to 5 L canister, sometimes up to 20 L. We see whether formats fit in one line or need a separate large-container filling station.

  4. Step 4
    Plan changeovers

We calculate transition time between formats and recipes, change parts set, and cleaning requirements. This directly affects real shift output.

  5. Step 5
    Form estimate and payback

Equipment, transport systems, marking, case packing, palletizing, launch and training. We show product loss calculation before and after automation.

Common questions about oil filling

Gravimetric or volumetric filling for oil?

Gravimetric gives a stable dose regardless of temperature and viscosity and protects against underfill. Volumetric is cheaper and suitable when product temperature is stable.

One line for bottle and canister?

Possible with close volumes and the same dosing principle, but changeover takes time. For a big volume difference two separate sections are usually more economical.

What about technical oils?

For motor and industrial oils the seal materials change, filtration is added and explosion-proof execution of units is often required. This affects the budget.
