Cosmetics Filling Line: Dosing Accuracy and Packaging Appearance
In cosmetics, the value of the product inside each bottle is high, and consumers evaluate the packaging visually. The line is therefore built around accurate dosing and gentle handling of bottles and dispensing closures.
Three Differences from Food Filling
The first is the value of each dose. One percent overfilling of an expensive product results in significant annual losses, so mass-based dosing or a precision piston doser is used.
The second is the variety of containers. Unstable bottle shapes, tubes, jars, and coated glass require format parts and careful transport without scratches.
The third is capping. Pump dispensers and trigger sprayers are screwed on with torque control and require nozzle orientation relative to the label.

How long does a changeover between bottle formats take?
With premanufactured format parts, it takes from 20 to 60 minutes. Without them, a changeover can take an entire shift, so a set of format parts should be ordered with the line.
Is inline inspection required?
Yes, for retail products. Automatic fill-level and cap inspection costs less than having a shipment returned by a retailer.
